The 'Bristol Prehospital Pilot' offers PHEM exposure to Junior Doctors in the Severn Deanery.
Following the recognition of Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine (PHEM) as a formal sub-specialty, there has been increased interest in careers in PHEM, but limited opportunity for exposure. The 'Bristol Pre-hospital Pilot' scheme aims to addresses this by offering CT1 - ST3 doctors a unique opportunity to gain clinical experience with a variety of pre-hospital teams in Bristol.
Developed in partnership with South Western Ambulance Service Trust (SWAST) and Great Western Air Ambulance Charity (GWAAC), 'The Bristol Pre-Hospital Pilot' has been developed on behalf of The Faculty of Prehospital Care (FPHC). If proving successful, we will look to expand the scheme to provide PHEM exposure to junior doctors in other areas of the country.
